Bethy Crocker

Sunday was Mike's birthday. He went hunting so the kids and I decided to make some brownies for him (he's not a big fan of cake). Josie loves to help me in the kitchen now and she usually does pretty well. However, with Mike not around, A.J. had to get up and help, too. I was a little distracted; trying to tell Josie what to do, and keep A.J. out of trouble at the same time. With all the distraction I forgot one ingredient - the flour! Yup, I put the brownie mix in the oven without adding flour. (When I poured the mix in the pan I thought that they seemed pretty "runny".) Did you know that brownies don't raise without flour? They just bubble and pretty much boil to the pan. I asked Josie "Did I put the flour in?". She said "I don't know, ask A.J." LOL! Needless to say, they didn't turn out. Mike tried to take a piece out with a knife and it flew into the ceiling. We ended up having Rice Krispie bars instead.

LOL! Thanks for the good laugh Bop! I understand how that can happen though . . . kids can certainly change one's train of thought!

Lol! Sometimes the mess-ups are more fun than the final product. Hope you had a good time!

Beth, this reminds me of a couple weeks ago when I made pumpkin muffins and it took three tries before I got it right. Kept forgetting to put things in! By the third time..I was completely on a mission! Oh yea, and I didn't have any distractions either!
