Josie - First Grade

Josie was a little sad at first; she was fighting back some tears as she got on the bus, but when I picked her up at school, she was all smiles and said she had a great time and that she loves first grade; even more than Kindergarten!

A.J. was pretty excited for 4K.  He was a little disappointed that they didn't do anything yesterday since it was just orientation. I reassured him that he will be doing stuff every day from now on. One thing I didn't do with him was practice his name "Anthony". We did a scavenger hunt around his classroom and several were finding his name. He was looking for A.J. and didn't recoginze Anthony.  We covered phone number, address, etc, but I didn't even think of working on his "real" name! Josie picked up hers immediately so I guess it wasn't anything that stuck out to go over with him. He knows it, but to see it written out, he didn't even recognize it. I told his teacher we'd work on that! Oops! My bad.
