Proud Moments

I started this blog four years ago when my mom passed away and right after A.J was born.  I wanted to share the things in our lives that I would normally have called to tell mom about.   Now grandma Diane, other family members, and close friends can read about the happenings, milestones, etc. Yesterday was mom's birthday and as I was thinking of her I was thinking of all the things she has missed out on. Here are some examples of Josie's "Milestones"that I look at as proud mom moments that I want to share (and remember for future reference!) :-)
  • Josie learned to ride her bike without training wheels this summer.
  • Josie  passed the swim test this summer so she was jumping off the diving board in the deep end...alone...without a life jacket...talk about heart palpitations!
  •  SCHOOL: We had great parent-teacher conferences this fall; we are very proud of her. She is very conscientious about  treating her classmates and other kids respectfully...I hope she continues this trait.
  • She made the 104 word wall club at the beginning of the school year. She was so, so, excited!! Her teacher makes a big deal out of it - they get to sit in the rocking chair, eat lunch with their teacher, and get their name up on the 104 Word Wall Club Board. HUGE for a first grader. She is also doing very well in math-yay!
  • Finally, she had PERFECT ATTENDANCE for the first quarter (and still going...) Last year she missed so much school that we got a note from her Principal saying that she missed too many days of school and we had to backtrack to the doctors office and turn in slips. Oops! She also got the Library Reading Program award at their awards ceremony last week. It just means that we were part of the program at the public library which consisted of keeping track of books she read throughout the summer; A.J. was part of it too - we LOVE the Library!!

Great job, Josie! Those are definitely ALL great accomplishments to be proud of, Beth! & ya know what? I believe your mom has seen every single one of them!
