The kids drew pictures for Jack, our Elf on the Shelf. The same night they gave him the pictures, Josie bought a Smencil (a pencil that smells) at her school for him. I took the pictures and the Smencil to work with me so that I could keep them safe in my office (the "North Pole" in the kids minds). I apparently forgot to take the Smencil out of my purse which Josie discovered in church last weekend. I wasn't sure what to say and I'm sure I looked dumbfounded trying to think of something fast when she looked at me, smiled, and whispered "Mom, Jack put the Smencil in your purse. Silly elf."
{head bang} YES! YES! That's exactly what he did, honey! That silly elf!
