Vacation

We went to Disney World for vacation this year in early June. The weather was wet, cool, and mosquito-infested in Wisconsin at the time we went so it was perfect timing. It wasn't too hot in Florida either (especially for me) and the longest we waited in line was around 20 min. without a fast pass so it wasn't bad at all. The kids did FANTASTIC- from the long day at the airport after waking up at 3:15 a.m. because the hotel smoke alarm went off (fire in the elevator), then spending 2 hours at the airport, 3 hours on the plane, another hour to the resort - to a couple long days at the parks.  They were able to go on most all of the big rides and are at the right age to still enjoy most of the 'kiddie" rides and seeing the characters.  We went to all four parks and spent some down time swimming and relaxing. A.J. even learned to swim without water wings or a life jacket!

Alesch's Review:
Favorite Park: Epcot Center: Not as many people, good rides for the kids and the easiest place to find the characters and get pictures.  Probably a very close second would be Magic Kingdom - just cool and a happy place. We did splash mountain twice!  Hollywood Studios had good shows and two of the kids' favorite rides.
Least Favorite Park: Animal Kingdom: A lot of walking; nothing too exciting you couldn't see in a zoo - the big ride was broke down.
Favorite Ride: Tower of Terror: Hollywood Studios; second favorite: Splash Mountain: Magic Kingdom; third was Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios - fun!
Least Favorite Ride: Stitch's Great Escape at Magic Kingdom: It's not really a ride.
Food: The food at the parks were better than at the resort, although very similar. The fruit was very good!!

Overall - a very fun and educational experience! I could fill this entire blog up with pictures and a run-down of all we did, but this is all I have for now.

First time on a plane!

We went to Downtown Disney one night by boat - it's was good to get away from the park and hotel food and do some shopping. They have so many things going on to make it fun for kids (early in the evening). We found an Irish Pub to eat at - they had kids go up and do the Irish jig. They had dancers and performances the entire afternoon/evening.
