Weekend Plans

This is a big college football weekend in my house. The Iowa vs. Iowa State and the Notre Dame vs. Michigan showdowns on Saturday. I’m sure the kids will keep me occupied enough to only catch some of the games, but you can bet they’ll be on! We are a house divided on the Iowa vs. Iowa State. I’m the Cyclone fan and Mike’s the Hawkeye fan, but hunting season opens this weekend so he'll be at his hunting land which means he won’t be around to watch it – now who’s the bigger fan?? :-)

The Irish looked pathetic last weekend; maybe they’ve improved in 7 days…ha ha! The good thing is that Michigan is also struggling so maybe they’ll pull off a victory.

On the NFL side, my fantasy football team is pretty weak but I did pull off a victory last week, surprisingly. Last year I made it to the championship round, but then got beat. I don’t think I will do that well this year. I also didn’t do so well on my picks for our office pool in Week 1. The winner always gets something Packer related so I’m not out much if I don’t win! (Ouch! Yes, a little Packer-slam!)

The other part of the weekend includes taking the kids to the apple orchard and pumpkin patch on Sunday. It might be a little early in the season, but honey crisp apples are now available and it will probably be one of the last nice weather weekends left.

Go IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
